Nicholas Malmains held Stamshaw of the king, rendering a sparrowhawk yearly and 35s. 4d. to the bailiffs of Portsmouth. His son Nicholas died in May 1349, a date falling within the period of the Black Death (VCH Hampshire Vol. 3, pp. 196-197).
The manor descended through several families: Kesewyke, Chamberlayn, Derrell, White, and Playfote. Henry Bickley held it in 1659 (VCH Hampshire Vol. 3, pp. 196-197).
