Boxgrove, West Sussex· Box and Stockbridge Hundred· 1329 – 1780
Also known as: Seebeche, Sewenbech, Seuebech
Thomas de Seuebech held land in Halnaker, Seabeach, and Boxgrove as 1/8 fee of the honour of Halnaker, dying in 1329. Richard de Seuebech held a reduced fee in 1336 and 1349.
By 1517 Humphrey Hiberden held "Seebeche alias Sewenbech." John and Thomas Hiberden sold to Richard Sackville in 1540. The same descent followed as Oldbury: through Lord Clinton and Edward VI to the Crown. A 1608 survey described "a house and 61 acres" with grazing rights on the downs of Halnaker and Eartham.
Sir William Morley held as tenant in 1650 until Parliamentary sale to William Cawley. The manor reverted to the Crown at the Restoration and was leased to the Dukes of Leeds.

Seabeach House (Grade II listed): 17th century, two storeys and attic, three windows, two gabled dormers. Flints and stone in chequer pattern with red brick dressings, quoins and string course. Tiled roof. Late-17th-century brick chimney-shaft.
